Hoorah Digital acquires Ritual Studio to boost creative design capabilities
South African digital marketing consultancy Hoorah Digital has expanded its creative capabilities through the strategic acquisition of creative user experience design firm Ritual Studio, which is founded by the former Executive Creator Director of Hellocomputer Simon Spreckley.
Ritual Studio was established in Cape Town in 2017 as a production partner in the computer-generated imaging (CGI) domain, and offers a broad range of services including interface design, animation and gaming. The firm has gained considerable success since its establishment, having worked with high profile clients in South Africa.
These include Standard Bank, Dragon Energy Drink and Sneaker Lab, among others. The firm was established by Simon Spreckley, who has nearly two decades of experience in the creative design space, including five years as Executive Creative Director at HelloComputer based in Cape Town.
Spreckley’s firm has now been acquired by Hoorah Digital, a media consultancy that is also based in Cape Town. Hoorah is an even newer venture than Ritual Studio, having only been established early last year. Since its founding, the firm has made considerable strides in the market.
In July last year, Hoorah acquired a Durban-based digital services firm by the name of Tenzing Agency to help bolster its capabilities in the ecommerce domain. Since then, the firm has established an additional office in Johannesburg, and has won lucrative contracts with major firms in Tanzania.
The firm’s creative capabilities will now be bolstered through the entru of Spreckley, who takes over as a Creative Partner at the firm. “By bringing Ritual Studio in the Hoorah Digital family, we’re getting a wealth of creative talent that also understands how brands can translate great customer interactions into tangible business,” said Shaune Jordaan, co-Founder & CEO of Hoorah Digital.
Spreckley commented, ““Since launch, the Hoorah Digital team has shown the value of people-based marketing. I’m really looking forward to doing some innovative work applying technologies like AR, VR, and CGI animation and gaming to the principle.”
“We’re also looking forward to combining our creative expertise with Hoorah’s exceptional data capabilities, using first-party data to fuel creative ideas and media planning. Additionally, our user experience and interface design skills provide the chance to expand on Hoorah Digital’s offering around product and platform,” he added.
