Speakers announced for Singularity University's Exponential Financial Summit
The list of speakers has been announced for the Exponential Financial Summit that is due to be held at the end of May this year in Cape Town. Representatives from MobileCoin and Discovery Life constitute part of the speakers list, in the event that is organised in collaboration with Deloitte.
Alongside the Big Four accounting and advisory firm, the event is supported by The Development Bank of Southern Africa, Discovery and MTN. The objective is clear: To discuss the opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the South African business environment, with a firm grounding in technology.
Singularity University is the primary facilitator of the event. The firm specialises in business incubation and is looking to help foster an entrepreneurial environment across South Africa by way of providing them with the resources to trace a growth trajectory. The Exponential Financial Summit is a manifestation of this goal.
Having announced earlier this year that the event would take place at the Cape Town International Convential Centre towards the end of May, the firm has now announced some of the speakers that will feature at the event.
Among the speakers is Shane Glynn, who is the co-Founder and General Counsel at mobile payment solutions firm MobileCoin. Glynn is expected to cover the influence that digitalisation and cashless payments is likely to have on the social and financial environment across South Africa.
Other speakers at the event include Hylton Kallner, Magda Wierzycka, Phathizwe Malinga, Benjamin Rosman. The former two operate at the Chief Executive level in different sectors of the South African economy, while the latter two are both affiliated with Singularity University. Alongside themes of technology, the speakers will discuss other aspects of growth and development.
Shayne and Mic Mann, who are co-Chief Executives at Singularity University commented on the event. “As part of our journey in future-proofing Africa, we are thrilled to have added more incredible speakers to the line up for our Exponential Finance Summit. We feel a great sense of pride to be bringing these world class experts and thinking to our South African shores,” said Shayne Mann.
“Through the Exponential Finance Summit, we hope to facilitate meaningful networking connections on a global scale, encourage ideas that can change the financial world, stimulate the South African economy, and kickstart a strong venture capital ecosystem. Impact is the currency of the future and these new speakers promise to add exactly that,” added Mic.
