Mandisa Mazibuko joins BCG’s leadership team in South Africa

Boston Consulting Group, a global strategy and management consulting firm, has strengthened its South African leadership team with Mandisa Mazibuko.

Appointed a Managing Director and Partner, effective 1 April, Mandisa Mazibuko brings nearly two decades of experience in strategy, transformation, leadership, commercial excellence, and marketing & sales across African markets. She joined from McKinsey & Company, where she spent a dozen years, latterly as a partner.

During her career with McKinsey, Mazibuko worked with clients in a range of industries, including consumer goods, banking, and telecom.

Commenting on her move to Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Mazibuko said she is energised by the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of BCG’s growth. “BCG’s commitment to Africa is long-standing and genuine,” she said. “The firm’s focus on people, innovation, and high-impact delivery aligns closely with my own values.”

“I am excited to help accelerate the positive change already underway in South Africa and to support clients as they navigate complex transformation journeys in a rapidly evolving environment.”

Headquartered in the US, Boston Consulting Group is one of the world’s most prestigious strategy consulting firms, a position it also holds in the local market.

Lucas Chaumontet, Managing Director, Senior Partner and Head of BCG in South Africa, said: “Mandisa’s appointment strengthens our leadership team at a crucial time for both South Africa and the continent. We continue to invest in Africa because we believe deeply in its potential. Our South African office has become a hub of expertise for the continent and beyond, and leaders like Mandisa help ensure we are building the capabilities needed locally to support our clients.”

Lisa Ivers, Managing Director, Senior Partner and Head of Africa at BCG, added: “Mandisa’s appointment marks another step in expanding BCG’s footprint in the region, as we continue to partner with leaders to drive transformation, and create lasting impact.”
