Turner & Townsend elevates Tim White to Regional Managing Director for Africa
Hot on the heels of completing the integration of Profica into Turner & Townsend, Profica founder Tim White has been appointed as Regional Managing Director for Africa.
Effective this month, White will lead Turner & Townsend’s operations across the continent, overseeing more than 400 employees working from offices in 19 cities across 16 countries, spanning English, French and Portuguese speaking markets. “I’m excited to lead our combined team as we unlock greater opportunities for our clients,” said White about his appointment.
Turner & Townsend specializes in the delivery major programs and projects in the built environment, primarily across real estate, infrastructure, energy, natural resources and digital infrastructure. According to its own records, the consulting firm has completed more than 3,000 projects in Africa since first establishing a presence on the continent over 40 years ago.
“Our unique scale, reach and capability, combined with unparalleled market knowledge across the continent, place us in a strong position to deliver solutions grounded in real experience, data and local insight, helping to address the industry’s biggest challenges in Africa,” White noted.
In its work with clients, the firm operates across the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to delivery. Its core capabilities include project management, cost and commercial management, project controls, net zero solutions, and the application of digital tools to enhance project execution and performance.
In his new role, White has been tasked with driving future growth across Africa. Key areas of focus include data centers, hospitality, principal contracting delivery, and development consulting services.
His appointment builds on a long career at the forefront of the industry. White co-founded Profica in 2005, growing the business into one of the leading project management consultancies in South Africa and across Sub-Saharan Africa. Turner & Townsend acquired Profica in December last year.
Globally, Turner & Townsend employs more than 22,000 people across 60 countries. The firm is majority-owned by CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate advisory and services company.
