South-Africa-based IT consulting firm GTConsult has consolidated its presence in the UK with the establishment of a new office in Berkshire. The new practice will leverage six years of business that GTConsult has conducted in the UK, and will be further bolstered by the addition of Grant Ellis as Sales Director.

Founded in 2011, GTConsult is a technology and software consulting firm, based in the city of Cape Town in South Africa. The firm offers a range of services in the software domain, supporting clients with operational optimisation, collaboration, business automation and a range of other functions.

GTConsult’s primary differentiating factor is its close relationship with global software giant Microsoft. For starters, the firm is a Microsoft Gold Partner for content and collaboration, which is an endorsement for its intranet, extranet and internet capabilities.

The firm’s primary area of expertise, however, lies in the sphere of Sharepoint – an online platform that integrates with Microsoft Office and facilitates collaboration. Based on this capacity, GTConsult is also and official Microsoft Sharepoint Deployment Planning Services Partner, and is one of only 90 global partners to have been admitted into the Business Critical Sharepoint Programme.

Other certifications that the firm has earned include the status of Microsoft Cloud Accelerate Partner, Sharegate Premium Partner, Premier Nintex Partner, among others. In addition to serving clients across Africa, the firm has leveraged its partnerships with Microsoft to win large volumes of business in the UK since 2012.

In terms of foreign operations, the firm has an office in the United States, where its primary area of focus is boosting productivity, which it achieves through supporting clients with low code or no code methods of managing workflow, hosted within the Sharepoint and Office 365 platforms. Now, the firm has opened a UK office to serve its long list of clients in the country.

Commenting on this move, CEO of GTConsult Bradley Geldenhuys said, “It has always been our plan to expand with local presence in the UK, we just had to find the right fit for our team. Further, we needed to ensure our business model was both attractive and scalable for the UK market. We also have an extremely attractive business model that is cost-effective and massively scalable by leveraging a hybrid of resources based both in the UK and South Africa, “

To boost its operations in the UK, the firm has appointed Grant Ellis as Sales Director for the country. Ellis is a sales specialist with a substantial body of professional experience, including spells as Business Development Manager at MTI Technology, and Territory Account Manager for the UK at Matrix42.

Commenting on his new role, Ellis said, “It is great to be part of a team that has such high impact with their clients. Further, the company has long-standing relationships, which is very unique in the IT industry. I am really looking forward to building the UK team and taking GTconsult to the UK market.”

Within South Africa, the growing demand for technology services, particularly amongst the small and medium enterprises will help boost the firm's local operations as well, which currently spans three locations in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
