Hoorah Digital collaboratively appoints new marketing executive with The Odd Number
Raphala Colson Mothogae, an expert in digital marketing with nearly two decades of experience, has now joined a collaborative arrangement between marketing consultancy Hoorah Digital and 100% black-owned advertising agency The Odd Number as a senior consultant.
Mothogae holds a degree in Marketing Management from the University of South Africa, and immediately entered the world of e-commerce, handling online sales for Ananzi. Between 2006 and 2008, he worked as an Account Manager at a 24.com and Acceleration Media respectively.
He then joined Absa as an Online Marketing Specialist, a role that he held for more than a year before joining Tiso Blackstar Group as an Account Manager for Sales. His longest professional stint came at The MediaShop, where he spent nearly five years as a Digital Strategist.
Mothogae has been the Head of Digital Media at both the ZenithOptimedia Group and at Starcom. Since October last year, he has been engaged at telecom giant Vodacom as a Senior Specialist in the Digital Marketing domain. He will now leave that role to work for Hoorah Digital and The Odd Number.
Given his experience in working with financial services firms, Mothogae is expected to manage Hoorah’s current digital engagement with South African financial services giant Nedbank. As he grows into his role, Mothogae will expectedly be tasked with a number of other projects, given Hoorah’s expanding profile.
The firm has not only been amassing a large clientele in South Africa, but has also won a number of lucrative contracts in the broader region of Africa and East Africa. Hoorah recently acquired Ritual Studio to boost its capabilities in the domain of creative design.
“The fact that they are young and vibrant and willing to take chances was a major drawcard. They’re also the kind of team that’ll do whatever it takes to serve clients and help them take their technological capabilities to the next level, and that’s magic,” said Mothogae of his new engagement.
“Raphala has spent nearly two decades in the digital and online space. He was there at the dawn of the digital era in South Africa and has experienced its incredible growth firsthand. We’re incredibly happy to have that experience, as well as Raphala’s innate understanding of the industry, at Hoorah Digital,” added Hoorah CEO Shaune Jordaan.
