RSM mergers with Ngubane to form 400-person South African business

RSM has boosted its presence in the South African market with the acquisition of Ngubane, one of the leading professional services firm in the country.

Ngubane was established in 1995 and has since grown into a well-known provider of accounting, tax, advisory, consulting, legal and cyber security services to clients in Johannesburg and nationally. The firm works across sectors, but has a particularly strong presence in the public sector as well as in transport & logistics, mining & resources, manufacturing, and education.

With Ngubane on board, the new merged firm, which operates as RSM South Africa, will have around 400 staff and turnover in excess of R300 million. The company will be led by CEO Noma Ashom, who previously led Ngubane, while RSM’s CEO Dieter Schulze has been appointed to the role of Regional CEO.

Ashom said that the joining of forces will both expand and deepen RSM’s footprint in the South African market, while vice versa, Ngubane will benefit from RSM’s broader set of capabilities and international network. RSM has offices across all corners of the world, with 57,000 people operating in 120 countries.

It brings together our deep understanding of the South African trading environment with access to international markets and a range of specialist services that RSM is so well known for. It will act as a catalyst for us to move at pace and scale, bringing technology, data and analytics to our clients in new ways,” stated Ashom.
