AESG, an international engineering and advisory firm, has launched a new office in Cape Town, its second in Africa and ninth globally.

Headquartered in the UK, AESG specialises in consultancy, engineering, and advisory services for projects in the built environment. The consulting firm already has offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania, with the new Cape Town hub strengthening its presence in Africa, following the recent opening of its Cairo office.

“Our expansion into Africa marks a significant milestone in our global journey and reflects our commitment to the continent,” said Saeed Al Abbar, Chief Executive Officer at AESG. “It also underscores the growing demand for sustainable, digital, and engineering expertise in Africa’s built environment.”

“As the region continues to attract global leaders in infrastructure and construction, AESG’s presence in South Africa will support initiatives and projects that are shaping the next chapter of the industry,” he added.

From Cape Town, the local team will assist builders, developers, and investors with technical engineering advisory, project management, technology integration in construction, and sustainability – a cornerstone of AESG’s offering.

“When we started AESG nearly fifteen years ago, we were driven by the belief that there was a better way to approach the built and urban environment – one rooted in technical excellence, sustainability, and a clear sense of purpose. That vision has taken us from a regional specialist to a global force operating across five continents,” Al Abbar said.
